The Visayas leg of the 2017 NAMCYA took place in the historic and culture-rich Silliman University in the City of Dumaguete, Negros Oriental.
The events started on Friday, September 15, with the Philippine Traditional Music Workshop facilitated by former NCCA Chairman Prof. Felipe de Leon, Jr.
Saturday was set for a full day of competitions for the choir and rondalla ensemble categories. The SU Hall was filled with families and friends, as well as local officials who watched and supported the semifinalists.
The following groups will advance to the National Finals which will take place at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in November.

2. University of the Visayas Chorale (Region VII)
1. Jose Garcia Montelibano NOHS Rondalla (NIR)
2. City of Bogo Science and Arts Academy Rondalla Ensemble (Region VII)
The NAMCYA expresses its gratitude to the Silliman University led by its President Dr. Ben Malayang III and Dean Diomar Abrio (Head, SU Culture and Arts Council), DepEd Central Office, DepEd NIR and the local School Division in Dumaguete, for the support and assistance to the NAMCYA during the Visayas leg.
