2016 NAMCYA Winners were presented at the CCP’s Pasinaya Open House Festival last February 5, 2017.
Boscorale (NAMCYA 2016 Youth Choir Equal Voices Grand Winner) and DepEd Bulacan Performing Arts Group (NAMCYA 2016 Traditional Music Ensemble National Winners) were presented at the CCP Main Theater. PWU JASMS Rondalla (NAMCYA 2015 and 2016 Rondalla Ensemble Grand Winners), Jet Chong and Janna Pena (NAMCYA 2016 Junior Piano Grand Winner and Second Prize Winner respectively), Damodar Castillo and Jeanne Marquez (NAMCYA 2016 Junior Strings Second Prize Winners), and Los Cantantes de Manila (NAMCYA 2015 Honorable Mention) were presented at the CCP Little Theater. Likewise, Ligao National High School Voice Ensemble (NAMCYA 2016 Youth Choir Second Prize Winner) performed at Bahay Tsinoy, a Pasinaya Museum partner venue.
The annual festival features more than 300 shows in music, theater, dance, visual arts, film, and literature, 3,000 artists participating and more than 50,000 viewers. The Pasinaya is considered the largest multi-arts festival in the country. Every possible venue at the CCP is used – theaters, lobbies, hallways, promenade areas, they alley beside the Production Design Center and are “zoned” according to the genres of music, theater, dance, film, literature, visual arts, children and family, variety and the artists market. The event also features crash workshops, film screenings, visual arts exhibitions and activities for children.
